Goo Goo Dolls to rock New York State Fair Grandstand on Aug. 22

Whenever the Goo Goo Dolls play Syracuse, it feels like a hometown show.That's because singer-guitarist Johnny Rzeznik, bassist Robby Takac and drummer Mike Melinin remember when the 'Cuse was a close stop on the Thruway circuit, before the band from Buffalo made it large nationally.They'll bring their big bang rock sound for a show at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at the New York State Fair's Mohegan Sun Grandstand.Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at the fair's box office, livenation.com, ticketmaster.com, TicketMaster outlets, and by phone charge at 315-470-0700.
