U2 tap David Bowie for new single
By Giannis Tsagarakis | Published  12/20/2006 | Music News | Unrated
David Bowie has popped up in the new video for U2's next single, featuring footage of the British legend singing lyrics to "Windows in the Skies".The new promo video has followed the concept explored in Gnarls Barkley's recent clip for "Smiley Faces" by using archive footage of some of rocks biggest stars wording some of the lyrics for the new track.Meanwhile David Bowie is busy working on his new project, a music and arts festival in New York City. As announced over the summer, Bowie is taking two years off from music, and will be curating the Highline Festival - which will take place in the unusual setting of neighborhoods underneath the High Line trainline, which runs through west Manhattan and is currently disused. The plan is to revive the area, and make the elevated rail line into a public park.Arcade Fire and TV On The Radio are frontrunners to headline the event, which will also feature David Bowie's first concert appearance in four years.Written by soundgenerator.com
